A district that spans two cities, and a city that spans two districts

Westland shares its main public district with the neighbouring city — Wayne-Westland Community School District serves both, so a Westland family and a Wayne family are often dealing with the same counseling staff. Less well known is that part of Westland is served by Livonia Public Schools instead, which means some households here are inside a district named after a different city entirely.

We mention it because school-based referrals are one of the ways teens reach us, and getting the district wrong wastes a week. We ask for the school by name.

Sessions are virtual

You meet your therapist over secure video from anywhere in Michigan — home, a parked car on a break, any private space with a stable connection. Removing the drive is usually what makes the difference between intending to start therapy and actually starting.

Westland is in Wayne County, where this practice is based. The Wayne County page has more on school coordination and the communities we cover.

Teen therapy in Westland

Westland has six high schools serving roughly 8,900 students, and only one of them is a comprehensive public high school in the usual sense — John Glenn. The rest are career-technical centers and private religious schools, and the main public district is shared with a neighbouring city.

So a Westland teenager’s school day may be split across a home high school and a career-tech center, with two sets of staff. We will ask which buildings are involved before we assume anything, and coordinate with a signed release. Our first-hand district experience is in Dearborn.

Insurance and cost

We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Priority Health, Aetna, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Ascension SmartHealth.

Many in-network clients pay approximately $0–$40 per session, depending on plan benefits, deductible, and eligibility. We verify your benefits before care, so you know your cost before your first session. Private pay is $150 per session.

How to start

Fill out the intake form and tell us your plan, what you are dealing with, and when you are generally free. We verify your benefits and match you with a licensed Michigan therapist within 24 hours.

If the match is not right, you can switch in one click. No awkward conversation, and no starting the intake over.

Common questions

Do you take my insurance?
We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Priority Health, Aetna, Cigna, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Ascension SmartHealth. Many in-network clients pay approximately $0–$40 per session, depending on plan benefits, deductible, and eligibility. We verify your benefits before care, so you know your cost before your first session. Private pay is $150 per session. If your plan is not on that list, we are not able to bill it yet — private pay is $150 per session, and we provide a superbill you can submit to your insurer for out-of-network reimbursement.
Do you have an office in Westland?
No. Sessions are virtual. Our practice is in Dearborn Heights and this page is about who we can see, not where we sit.
Are sessions in person or online?
Both, and neither one is the fallback. The Dearborn office at 3200 Greenfield Road, Suite 300, Dearborn, MI 48120 keeps office hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Appointments are flexible — daytime, evenings, and weekends — in person at the Dearborn office or by secure video across Michigan. For video you must be physically located in Michigan, because your therapist is licensed in Michigan.
